Description: Please advise this film is non-Union. It is a low budget short, but these are paying gigs... Chapter Ten Films, LLC is casting for multiple roles in the upcoming short, Stiffs. The comedy follows the night shift of Kurt and Archie, van drivers for the county coroner. Information: - Casting will take place on April 4th and 5th. Location will be local- TBA. - The film will be shooting in early/ mid July and will utilize the RED One camera. The shoot will be 8 straight days, many of which will be night shoots (i.e. 6pm-6am) so please don't audition if you can't devote this kind of time to the film. - We are looking for people who are passionate about story-telling, fun and easy to work with, and want to be apart of a collaborative effort to make an outstanding short that will be submitted to film festivals nationwide. Prima Donnas need not apply. The following roles are open for audition: Archie: Screen age mid to late 30s. Archie is a goofy, lazy character that doesnt take much seriously and always has a silly, positive attitude. He drives the Coroner van with his good friend, Kurt. His goal in life is to keep things as simple and easy as possible, and any shortcut is acceptable. He is constantly eating burritos throughout the film. Samantha: Screen age of 14-16. She is an emo/ punk/ goth girl who loves classic rock. She is the creative type who expresses herself through her clothes and trinkets in her room. She hates her parents whom she is trying to escape for a better life, like any other teen. She acts out in extreme ways as cries for help. Dr. Martin: She is the County Coroner, screen age early 40s. She suffers from the librarian syndrome: She takes her job very seriously, she is mild mannered and quite, but deep down inside somewhere is a sexy and wild woman thats just waiting to escape. She has a deep-seated and somewhat unconscious lust for Kurt, our 20-something hero, and eventually acts on those feelings. The role will involve screen kissing. Lenny: He is a community college graduate in his mid to late 30s. Lenny works the night shift at the morgue, preparing the bodies for autopsies and cremations. He is a lonely person (not by choice) and finds friendship with the bodies he spends most of his time with. He carries on casual conversations with people on the slab, even practices picking up women. Hes the myspace-blogging, World of Warcraft type. Mrs. Harris: Samanthas mother, screen age late 40s. She is a trophy wife. Selfish, materialistic, and a wino. She concerns herself with her outward image at the country club rather than caring for her daughter. She keeps up with the Jones and would rather die than have fashion thats out of season. Salaries vary for each role and will be discussed during callbacks.
