Description: Rising Phoenix Productions, an independent film company based in Harrisburg, PA, will be holding auditions on Saturday April 19th, 2008. The auditions will be for three projects that we are currently working on. First, the independent Sci-Fi series "Dark Operations" will be looking to fill positions for 2 recurring roles and extras for the 4 episodes that have begun production. Second several performers and extras are needed for the suspense/horror film "Pain Management." Third, several performers are needed for re-enactment scenes for our documentary Jane Doe 24-275: The Natalia Andreevna Miller Story. Your professionalism, dedication to your art, and respect for the business of entertainment are the qualities we look for in potential cast members and encourage those individuals with such traits to try out. Open auditions will run from 10am to 4pm at the Fiala Field House at the corner of 21st Street and Dickenson St in Camp Hill, PA. For information on the Dark Operations series, please visit www.darkopsfilm.com. *** ABOUT THE AUDITION: This call is limited to individuals 18+ Applicants should arrive at the audition dressed comfortably and with something to perform at the audition. You may also be asked to perform a cold read from provided sides. A resume and a headshot are not mandatory, but they are preferred. All questions may be directed to Jnorcross117@aol.com. As always, Rising Phoenix Productions is also open to accepting volunteers for other aspects of the project including make-up, costume design/construction, set design/construction, and other aspects of film making from pre to post production. Please do not hesitate to see us at the audition with any interest in helping with these aspects of any or all productions. Callbacks may be necessary and would be scheduled on an individual basis following the initial audition. For Dark Operations, we are looking for the following: 1 Female - 18 30 for a human assassin role. The role will require the performer to perform fight and stunt work. The performer will need to learn the use of a bullwhip and a sword and will require a great deal of choreography practice. The costume will be moderately revealing the performer will be showing cleavage and wear a skirt. This role is a replacement for an actress that went union after the pilot episode was shot. As a result, re-shoots of scenes from the pilot episode may be done as time permits to replace the original scenes for an eventual special edition. The ideal candidate will either have red hair, be willing to dye her hair, or wear a wig for an extended period of time. Some experience in sword work or stage fighting is preferred, but not necessary. 1 Male 30's 50's for a human role as a high-ranking evil military officer. This role is a replacement for an actor that went union after the pilot episode was shot. As a result, re-shoots of scenes from the pilot episode may be done as time permits to replace the original scenes for an eventual special edition. The ideal candidate will have extensive acting experience and be willing to wear a military hairstyle. We would prefer someone with gray hair, however that is not a requirement. 11 Females or Males For roles as Marines. Most of the characters will appear in at least 2 episodes with others appearing in 3 to 4. Some will have lines, others will not. All roles will involve interaction with large 'creatures' that will get in a gunfight with the characters and a bar brawl scene. ** Various Extras both male and female - will also be needed for all 4 of the episodes currently slated for production some will have lines and many will be used in multiple scenes despite being unnamed. For Jane Doe: 24-275 we are looking for the following: 1 Female 18 25 to play the title role of the victim. All individuals involved in this project have, and will continue to, work closely with members of law enforcement, the DAs office, the coroners office, and the family of the victim. Professionalism and the ability to interact with these agencies and individuals in an empathetic and professional manner is expected and required. Natalia was a Russian immigrant, so either the natural presence of such an accent or the ability to perform a Russian accent will be required. SIMULATED partial nudity will be required for a few scenes, however you will not be actually nude at any time. While RPP does not typically concentrate on the look of a performer, this particular role will require blonde hair (natural or dyed) and blue eyes (natural or contacts). A passing resemblance to Natalia would also be preferred. All performers and crew on this project will also be filmed talking about their experiences on this project in their own words for inclusion on the DVD. **Various Extras both male and female to play police officers, investigators, citizens, etc. For Pain Management we are looking for the following: 1 Female 20 30 to play a kidnap/torture victim with a slender or athletic build. The role will require special effects make-up to recreate gore and torture effects. The ability to scream well is a plus. 1 Female 18 22 for the role of a junkie. Minor special effects make-up and minor fight choreography will be needed for this role. 1 Female 25 35 non-speaking role. The character will require minor special effects make-up and minor fight choreography. 1 Male 20 to 30 for a role as a rock musician. A large imposing build and an edgy look are preferred. A major fight sequence will also be involved along with special effects make-up. ** Various Extras both male and female will also be needed for scenes throughout the film. *** We look forward to welcoming all candidates at the audition and thank you for your interest.
